Some people need assistance to remain independent in their own homes but do not need the 24-hour supervision and care provided in a nursing facility. That's why the Elderly Disabled Waiver Programs were developed - to give Georgians a greater choice in deciding where to live and what assistance they need.

To be eligible for participation in the Elderly Disabled Waiver Program, a person must:
- Have health and personal needs which can be adequately met in the community within established cost guidelines
- Be an eligible Medicaid recipient. If a person has previously been determined ineligible for Medicaid, he/she may still qualify under the p
To be eligible for participation in the Elderly Disabled Waiver Program, a person must:
- Have health and personal needs which can be adequately met in the community within established cost guidelines
- Be an eligible Medicaid recipient. If a person has previously been determined ineligible for Medicaid, he/she may still qualify under the program because regulations differ. In some cases, clients may have to pay part of the cost of services. The amount is determined by the Department of Family and Children Services.

If you choose to participate in the Elderly Disabled Waiver Program, a care coordinator will arrange for services and evaluate your condition frequently. If your needs change, ap
